About Me

I grew up as a New Yorker, on the sandy shores of southern Long Island. After stops in Mississippi, New Orleans, and Denver, my partner and I are happy to call Atlanta our home. During my career, I have worked in university mental health centers, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, and with university and high school athletic departments. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, and from a variety of cultural backgrounds and walks of life, with extensive specialized training in helping young and emerging adults.

Relationships are at the heart of how I work with clients. Often when we are experiencing mental health problems, disconnections in our relationships with our selves, our emotions, or others are contributing to our distress and unmet needs. The caring, mutually-enriching relationship I establish with clients through deep listening, honesty, and emotional attunement creates a safe space to examine these relationships and cultivate the new understandings and habits that lead to dynamic growth and change.

Every client brings with them a unique tapestry of history, identities, hopes, dreams, likes and dislikes and each deserves a bespoke approach to help them move toward their goals. Some clients prefer sessions with agendas and between-session assignments, while others enjoy a more free-flowing experience. I like to approach clients with what will be most motivating and helpful for them. In crafting my individualized therapy approach with each client, I draw from a variety of evidenced-based practices, including: emotion-focused therapy, time-limited dynamic therapy, mindfulness-integrated cognitive-behavioral therapy, and self-compassion.

I also have specialized training in performance psychology and am passionate about helping people refine and develop new skills that allow them to perform at their best, even when pressure is the highest. We are all performers in life, whether in our careers, at school, hobbies, or in our family roles. In my performance work, I help people perform more consistently at their highest ability levels and enjoy those performances more. I have provided performance psychology services to elite college and high school athletes, performing artists, professionals, and graduate and undergraduate students to help them build mental skills and remove barriers to reach their athletic, creative, professional, and academic goals.

In my free time, I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee and basketball, jamming on stringed instruments, refining my NY pizza recipe, building things, and hiking and paddleboarding with my partner.
