About Me
I find the resilience of children inspiring and motivating. Whether in my clinical work, or research, I have seen how children learn to adjust, grow, and thrive, despite the obstacles they may face. I enjoy supporting children, adolescents, and their families in building skills and finding the resources they need to grow and learn during difficult times. I bring curiosity, warmth, and openness to my work with clients. I am a scientist at heart. As such, I often use tools to track and measure progress, work with families to set concrete goals and look to the best available treatment approaches to meet my client’s needs most efficiently.
I have worked in various settings, including private practice, outpatient mental health clinics, and the homes and schools of my clients. I have specialized training in working with children and their families and with several treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Multi-Systemic Therapy. In my approach to treatment, I see a child as the center of an interconnected web of relationships. Through my work with families, I aim to strengthen these relationships and ensure that the most important people in a child’s life have the resources and tools they need to support their child’s growth and adjustment.
In addition to my clinical work with children, I design, evaluate, and research social-emotional learning programs and tools for national youth-serving organizations. In this work, I share tools and practices I use in my clinical work with educators. In turn, I have learned creative ways to bring positive mental health practices outside a clinical setting into the lives of children at home, school, or in their communities.
